Hi, this is a sneak peek of my young adult novel, Awake. Story is about, an unqualified mage/witch living on the floating island of Chemmis (inhabited by fey and other mysterious creatures) , above Earth and unknown to most humans. A few weeks ago, I went to the Mitchell Library of Sydney to read the first edition of Yeat's book Fairy folk tails of the Irish peasantry, published 1888. It literary sent chills down my spine, my sister couldn't sleep that night. It's a collection of stories from the people living in small villages in Ireland and their encounters with the fair folk. And believe you me its convincing at times, there's a priest and several other valued community members that talk of there experiences. Yeats I don't know if faeries exist, but I am doing a lot of research on the folklore of faeries for my novel Awake and some people truly do believe. I think it would be nice to think there was a place such as this, were beings were free and happy all the time. A place were nature lies undisturbed from the stress and efficiency of our human lives. The writings of W.B. Yeats , Lady Gregory and so may others speak of Tira na nog and as a result I to want to believe in the Land of the Fey.
