Hi Everyone...I hope you have been enjoying the book so far. Here is Chapter Three. Chapter Three Lindy Venzu Village - 0830 The Town Hall was filled to its seams by the time Jacob and I got there. Women and children sat side by side on ancient wooden benches, and men stood along the sides, and back of the hall, spilling out through the open mahogany doors. All eyes were on Maxwell the Village Mayor/ Head Witch, as he took to the stage and placed a scroll on the pulpit. He had dark bags under his eyes, and his usually pristine clothes were smudged with dirt. He looked down at the village elders as they took their seats, a grim expression on his face. Fear permeated through the air making the meeting hall smell musky and thick with panic. Chemmis had been in peace for centuries and the warning bell was an omen that things were about to change. This made me think of my recent visions and how odd they have been. I chewed nervously at my thumb. This meeting couldn’t be related
Hi Everyone, I hope you have enjoyed my last chapter. Here is chapter two... Chapter Two Stone Vira-na-Nog Province 0400 Sunday The slap to my face stunned me awake. I rolled over to my right, a move I perfected in defence class, and grabbed the jeweled dagger under my pillow. I was on my feet, before the next blow made an arc in the air. The smell of jasmine filled my lungs as I drew a deep breathe, ready for a fight. ‘That was the second slap, by the way,’ a sweet feminine voice announced. I froze, it couldn’t be. ‘Granna?’ I asked. ‘Yes, of course it is me. Who did you think it was?’she replied. I relaxed my stance. My grandmother was not your usual run-in-the-mill queen-mother, but I still never expected her to wake me up with a clout. My cheek stung like I had been bitten by a swarm of hornets. Lowering myself onto the bed, I held the cool silk sheet to my burning cheek. ‘An assassin…or a burglar maybe? I wouldn’t have expected my elegant gra

Chapter One

Hi Everyone. Here is Chapter One of my novel... Chapter 1            Lindy Chemmis – 0800 – Monday I only noticed the door in-front of me, when I walked SMACK, into it. ‘Oowwh!’ I cried, and rubbed my injured nose. This was the second time in two days that I blacked out and ended up in a strange place. My premonitions were beginning to make life difficult. It was bad enough being a teenage witch on the floating Island of Chemmis, 50, 000ft above Earth, with no good clothes and makeup. Now to make matters worse, I was sleep-walking during the day, and doing the most embarrassing things, that people only did in their nightmares. Like walking through the Magic-Mart at 4am in my Pj’s. Trudging back to the kitchenette, I opened the fridge and grabbed a bag of frozen peas. I layed it gingerly on my aching nose. The cold bag stung my skin, but eased the pain. Just as I leaned against the kitchen counter, my brother appeared at the breakfast nook and I jumped in shock. ‘
Hi Everyone, I have finally completed the first draft of my young adult fantasy novel. As you all have been such great readers, and have given me valuable feedback on my non-fiction stories, I thought it would be a good idea to publish the chapters on my blog, much like a series, and get you feedback before sending it off to publishers. So here it is a little piece of my soul, my book Awake. Awake “The path to paradise begins in hell.” – Dante Alighier PROLOGUE Heat surged through the air searing my skin, like I was being roasted on a spit. I tried to pick up my drooping head, but the effort took too much energy. Energy I did not have, due to hanging in this state for who knows how long. It could have been hours, days or weeks, there was no way for me to tell. Time stood still in hell. Chains coiled around my arms, and held me upright and rigid against the red rock wall. Something shrieked, breaking the monotony of the churning lava. A haunted note of anguish lingered in
